EXCURSION TO NP KRKA

The Krka National Park was proclaimed in 1985. It covers a total area of 109 km2, and is famous for its numerous waterfalls that were created by deposition of travertine. Krka has seven big watrefalls and its beauty is a natural phenomenon. 

EXCURSION PROGRAM:

A refreshing day in the middle of summer could be the perfect recipe for exploring another side of Croatia besides islands, the sea or pebble beaches. A visit to one of the eight national parks in Croatia guarantees a day filled with unique experiences. The drive from Zadar to the Krka National Park is very pleasant and includes panoramic views of the surrounding islands, archipelago and picturesque coastal villages. Depending on traffic, the ride takes about an hour, we arrive at the Lozovac entrance, where we begin a walk through a park that will be truly peaceful: countless waterfalls that merge before your eyes as you walk a network of wooden bridges, and the sweet scent of pines fills your nostrils. We will continue our walk along educational trails through nature and an authentic ethno presentation that reveals how river water has sustained life in this area over the centuries. Historic remains  such as stone houses and mills have been converted into souvenir shops and exhibition spaces. Afterwards, we will take a break for a lunch or a coffe and enjoy nature with the sound of waterfalls. The rest is followed by a boat ride to beautiful Skradin - a small town on the river and sea with a combination of brightly colored stone houses of its main streets and a ruin of a fortress above it. You will enjoy a panoramic boat ride through the canyon of the river Krka presenting all the beauty of the surroundings. Be prepared to take photos, as these are pictures you will want to bring home and share with family and friends. Upon arrival in Skradin, a bus is waiting for you to return to Zadar.
